Ebony and Irony

Is it irony that my last post was about the Saints winning one, and my very next post is just before the Real Saints* hopefully win their own?
And while we're on the topic: Is it ironic to use the word "ironic" in a deliberately non-ironic situation?
I submit it would be if you were a Master Of Irony, trying to win the Irony Man Competition, and as your closing statement you deliberately say something you think is ironic that is Not In Fact Ironic.
THAT would be IRONIC!
Coincidentally (though not ironically), that would have to win any Irony Man Competition.
Take that, Ms Morissette! (Loved your work in Dogma, by the way. Call me.)
Anyhoo, I guess I should mention that I’m back on the Rantwagon, mah peeps.
I’ve had a lot of rant-juice building up in my rant duct, and it’s time to Let Loose.
I could say that the reason I haven't posted for a super-long time is because I was waiting for the Saints to get into another Grand Final, or because I'm waiting for Sirmarco to post first (but he's taking fricking forEVER), or even because I need to spend time with my family instead of ranting into the very thin air that is the little-read and over-populated blogosphere.
But let's just blame it on Muslim Vampires. Or Twitter.
Whatever the reason, I'm back.
GO SAINTS.
*No disrespect to the New Orleans Saints, of course, I just have a deep and abiding link to the Saints of St Kilda, both in bayside Melbourne AND in the outlying Scottish island.

Facebook, Shmacebook

Never really been a fan of Facebook - seems to demand an incredible amount of time just to receive imaginary drinks and get bitten by imaginary zombies, and I've got better things to do with that time.

Such as drink real drinks and get bitten by real zombies. Not to mention updating my blog - whew, now that's time-wasting!

A friend recently sent me this video, which highlights some of the other dangers that Facebook presents.

(I should perhaps mention he sent it to me on Facebook...)

Anyhoo, I'm currently working on getting my blog onto my Facebook page.
That would be sweet.

Follow the Follower

I’ve just discovered that someone is Following (note the capital "F" - very important) my blog – Hi Fenz!

This changes everything – before I was ranting into the void on the assumption that no-one was reading (despite the fact I was putting these rants out on the most public void, or series of voids, available). Not even me.

But now that I know at least one person is reading, I’d better write for an audience.

So, uh, like, what’s with all that stuff going on?!?

Hmmm, haven’t exactly improved, yet. Must work on that.

For now, Fenz has inspired me to make my Following of some blogs out there equally public. I realise I’ve got my Blog List o’ One, but I think it’s time I recognised:

Plus I'll look at adding more...

I'm gonna add some gadgets on the sidebar, too, so if you want to Follow This Blog, Get On It!!

CAPITAL LETTERS RULE OK!!!

PS This is not a blog, but in my searches of the internets, I found this guy’s Weenish/Piratey comment: “I spend a lot of time thinking about: Boognish or Flying Spaghetti Monster... where should my loyalties be.” Good question, "this guy", good question.

PPS Mr Sirmarco seems to have copied my idea for a blog before I even thought of it. Plus, not only did he do it years earlier, but it seems he's also done it better. Nice work, Sir Sirmarco.

Blog rant

No, this is not a normal rant on a blog, this is a rant about my blog.

What the hell's going on with the layout on the main page? All the headings and links used to be a lovely shade of green, and now they look crappy blue and grey, crappity-crap-crap.

I'll admit that I played around with the html editing a bit (despite my total lack of knowledge about what those words in that order really mean), but that's only because I was forced to, due to my lack of knowledge...

Plus, the times seem a bit out (I think I'm posting in American time).

And what's going on with all those immigants?

I must contact the People o' Blogger, and work this out...
